Loaded down with
her baby dolls,
To Grandma's house she came.
A hug, a kiss, a quick hello,
Smiled as she said my name.
As she stepped inside the door,
Things did not seem the same.
Her little face lit up with glee,
As her footsteps took their aim!

Straight to the Christmas tree she
ran,
Sat down upon the floor.
Looking at the Christmas lights and,
Decorations galore!
I saw the wonder in her eyes,
And my heart she did touch.
When she saw the little statues,
The ones I love so much.

She reached for
Baby Jesus and,
Then held Him to her heart.
So began the Birthday story,
Told from the very start.
Happy Birthday Jesus!
