Fly Away

There's a bird that is watching
That's waiting for me.
He's waiting and watching
From high in a tree.
He sings his song
From dawn's early light
All through the day
Till the darkness of night.
Fly away, fly away
Come fly with me
We'll soar toward the heavens
How happy you'll be
Fly away, come fly
We'll glide with the wind
I'll be right beside you
My wings I will lend.
At the end of the day
When we have returned
A lesson in trust
You will have learned.

Note from southbreeze:  Fly Away is the first poem I wrote that was published
on the Internet in the year 2000 and was published at Debs Spot On The Web.
It was written originally as a lullaby but was never published.
